Sunday October 15
Today we made our way to a small town between Flagstaff and Kingman Arizone - Seligman
It had a KOA which is usually quite a reliable campground and although this was adequate and had decent services it really was in the middle of the boondocks - but we had a good night but my gosh does the desert ever get cold at night !!!!
Monday - October 16
Today we drove into California and the end of this adventure - it was a little quicker than we usually travel but some commitments necessitated us moving along and we will be glad to get home ...
This is my last post for this trip so until the next time ....

Thursday, Friday and Saturday
I havent posted these last few days as things went a little awry - While trying to pull out from Oklahoma City we had a bit of trouble pulling up our Jacks and the Slides werent coming in and out just the way they should - but we got everything ready and finally were able to head to Amarillo.
The Amarillo RV Ranch is one of our favorite places and we were looking forward to our Steak Dinner at the Big Texan - and it was wonderfully worth the wait.
When we arrived in Amarillo our Jacks would not come down at all and the slides would not go out ...except the bedroom did and then would not come back in - so we were able to sleep fine but lived with the slides closed and that was no big deal - still plenty of room.
FRIDAY
No matter what Phil tried - calls to the company whose system we used ended with no solution. So we called a local RV Mobile Guy and he could not come until late afternoon Friday ...which he did around 5 p.m. He had the problem diagnosed and fixed by 530 !!!!! He was wonderful and we set out on our way - everything working better than ever. We have never driven at night before so this was a first, but we were only going 150 miles and would gain an hour as we passed into Mountain Time. It was a pretty drive for the first hour.
Once it became dark it was much harder to see the road - winds were gusting and blowing us around a bit and transport trucks flying by us - but we made it but wont be anything we try again.
SATURDAY
We got a nice early start today as we headed to Gallup New Mexico - a beautiful day ...not a cloud in the sky just miles and miles of road ahead but a pretty drive to as we came into the red rock.
I notice that the date on my camera is wrong - these were all taken today. Love this campground in Gallup - we stayed here on the way East back in April - seems like years ago ...
Tomorrow we head to Seligman Arizona - a bit of a drive but then only 2 more days until home

Tuesday and Wednesday Travel
We have travelled Interstate 40 a few times now - and there are a few stretches where there is not much to photograph or talk about - lol
Weather is much cooler now and a wonderful break from the humidity. We are heading to Choctaw just outside Oklahoma City to a KOA where we have previously stayed and it is a wonderful campground - with Bunkers in case of a tornado !!!
West Memphis AR to Russellville was uneventful ...very hot and humid still - we will be glad to get into cooler weather - it was 87 (+28 C) degrees when we left W Memphis and by the time we arrived in Russellville it was 60 (+14 C)
Ivy's Cove RV Park was a great little park right next to a Truck Wash and a Flying J for Gas - Gas is $2.15 per gallon here ....I know it wont be that in California!!!
WEDNESDAY - OCTOBER 11, 2017
We started our day off by stopping at the Truck Wash for a much needed Wash of the RV ...4 men worked quickly and effeciently and washed the whole RV in about 15 mins - and did a great job

This Mural is painted on the outside wall of the Oklahome Visitors Centre
These new fancy firepits were new at this campground.
Tomorrow we move on to one of our favorite places - Amarillo Texas where we will stay next to the Big Texan - home of the 72 oz steak - and we will get our free limo over to the restaurant for a "7" oz steak - so looking forward to it.

Nashville to West Memphis, AR
Today seemed like a very long drive - and it wasnt any longer than most - we got a late start because Phil had to return the rental car - the heat and humidity continue
We love this Tom Sawyer RV Park but it is packed here tonight ...our first time here we were almost the only one - so it has surprised me at how busy all of these RV parks have been in October
Moving on down the road tomorrow to Russellville, Arkansas

Weekend in Nashville
As you probably noticed - Nashville is on of our favorite places to visit - despite the humidity ...
We stayed at a KOA campground about 20 minutes outside Nashville - it was the only spot left it seems because its "Fall Break" whatever the heck that is ...never heard of it ....we got the last spot in this campground and it took us a while to level ...but Phil did it ...as always
We rented a car here and so made a much needed trip to Walmart for the "essentials" - beer and wine!!! then the best part - we had tickets for the Grand Ole Opry - we love going here so very much ...first we had dinner at the Claim Jumper and enjoyed every bite :) then on to the show
My Internet is to slow here to upload photos so will do that tonight in Memphis
Hurricane Nate tracked us down with a day of rain on Sunday so we relaxed in the morning and once it stopped, we drove around Nashville - visiting the Parthenon, Broadway, the Ryman Auditorium before stopping for trivia and dinner
the Parthenon Replica
Today we are moving on to Memphis to another favorite spot on the Mississippi River - Tom Sawyer RV park

Nashville Bound
Today we drove from Marengo Ohio to Shepherdsville (Louisville) KY - just 15 miles south of Louisville. We had to maneuver through 2 large cities today - Columbus and Cinncinati. Always a bit of a nail biter - well for me anyway.
We stayed in a small RV Park called Grandma's RV Park - wonderfully nice folks run this 64 campsite small park and man every spot was full ...they are nice long sites but very close to neighbours ....and it was HOT but a nice stay right off the I65
We are on to Nashville on Saturday and we have tickets for the OPRY for Saturday night - so excited - Vince Gill will be on the show :) We will be in Nashville until Monday ...
Driving thru Cinncinati :) -

WESTWARD BOUND - OCTOBER 2017
We are finally heading back to California. After surviving Hurricane Irma and the drive home from the oppressive heat in Florida and having a wonderful visit with Jeremy, Alyssa, Nevaeh and Lachlan we are on our way west.
Our trip to Erie Pennsylvania was a great drive and an easy time through customs. We stayed at our usual KOA, which we love, and had our first campfire :)
Our second day of travel took us down Hwy 71 - around Cleveland - and down to Marengo Ohio. We are in the Cardinal Center Campground which is a very nice spot with a Shooting Range attached to it ...I could see Phil salivating as we drove up but unfortunately it rained during this visit. Next Time !!!!
Today - Friday October 6 - we will drive 250 miles to Shepherdsville Kentucky - hoping to NOT run into Hurricane Nate over the next few days.
