Bryce Canyon Utah

I had my photos all ready to post last night and then went off to bed and completely forgot to do it...

This was our day to do Bryce Canyon and although we both were thinking it would be just more of the same red rock - we couldnt have been more wrong ....It rained through the night and the skies were dark and cloudy so we had a leisurely breakfast and hoped the skies would clear and they did ...well by the time we reached the park at least ....

This was our 4th National Park for this trip and we are so glad we made it ...we passed it up on our last swing through Utah ...so very glad we made time for is this time !!

This Arch was absolutely breathtaking ....

This was the road leading up to the National Park.  What a day we had ....so very glad we made it to Bryce ...of all we have seen I believe this Park is my favorite.

October 6

We drove to Las Vegas today ...Beautiful day for driving .....

Our Adventure is over ...We will be back in Anaheim tomorrow after a long day of driving ...it has been a wonderful adventure and another that I will never forget ....we saw so much beauty in the 3 weeks we have been on the road across this country.

Red Rock and Canyons

Red rock everywhere!!  Our day got off to an early start as we wanted to get in three Parks ..Arches National Park, Dead Horse Point State Park, and Canyonlands National Park.  We made it to all three, the only small downside was that the trails to the 1 Arch I really wanted to see was not "scooter' accessible, so I wasn't able to get up some of the trails....but I got to see many beautiful views thanks to my mobility scooter.  I took many pictures but I will just post a few ...

These are mostly photos of the Arches Park ....the sky is so blue and the temps were in the 70's...just a perfect day

Tomorrow we move on to Beaver Utah and will so one more park, Bryce Canyon before we head on to California

Happy Trails!!

Gunnison, Co to Moab, Utah

We were still up in the Rockies in Gunnison Colorado, so we didn't know what really lay ahead for us accept that we were at 8800 ft still and had to go down to 4000ft ....So Down we went ....I couldn't believe how much mountain we still had to go down but we made it, safe and sound, thanks to Phil's safe driving ...we are a lot of vehicle ...60 ft long with the dolly and the car
Finally we were down out of the Rockies and entering Utah ....we keep a pretty close eye on weather conditions where we are going, several apps and several devices later we knew that we were going to be driving into "blustery" windy weather ...well you know how I love wind - and so it was ....the wind picked up in Grand Junction Colorado and blew like h--- all the way to the KOA ...

The KOA is a lovely spot with wonderful views and these photos are what surrounds us for the next two days.

Tomorrow we will go to two parks - Arches and Canyonlands National Parks

Happy Trails!!

Driving the Rockies

Well the best way to describe todays drive is that the 1st bottle of wine is gone !!!!!   We didn't realize the climb up the Rockies we would have today ...we "thought" we had chosen the least "climb" by going the route we did, and maybe we did, I cant even imagine if we had to have gone a higher route ....but the day started out so nice with our visitors to our campground ..

The first part of our journey was a bit twisting and turning and some downhill, it was pleasant to be following along beside the Arkansas River
(The bottom right hand picture in this group was part of our higher road :()

Then we began a climb ....it was steep ....but we didn't know how steep ...we started at 7000 ft and at the summit (Monarch Mountain) we were at 11,110 ft ....and of course what goes up must come down ....
The one thing I wasn't expecting was the color thoughout the Rockies ....its not like Ontario with the oranges and reds and golds, it is mostly gold ...but breathtaking ...if you can breath at 11000 ft .... :)

Apparently, according to the owner of our campground tonight, we have two more hill pulls, tomorrow, but they are "half" of the Monarch Mountain Pass ....Wooooohooo!!! should have bought more wine :)

We move on to Moab, Utah where we will visit the Arches and Canyonlands :)   we can look at them from the ground ...we don't have to drive over them :)

Happy Trails!!!
